Our Story

The Dillon Amphitheater was originally built and opened in 1993 by the Town of Dillon as a community outdoor venue with spectacular mountain and lake views. In 2017 the Town of Dillon launched a major effort to revamp and modernize the amphitheater with the goal of attracting bigger touring artists and enhancing the venue's appeal.

Renovation began in July of 2017 and continued into 2018. The new and improved Dillon Amphitheater reopened in June 2018. Upgrades included a rebuilt stage and bandshell, new green rooms, improved backstage facilities, new restrooms, concessions, and an expanded walking plaza. The original seating bowl remains from the original facility.

Since the renovation, the venue has hosted a multitude of nationally touring artists and continued its long tradition of free concerts and community programming. In 2023, the Dillon Amphitheater sparked a new summer tradition that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike: Mountain Music Mondays — a dedicated night for free music at the amp every Monday evening in the summer.

Today the Dillon Amphitheater is more than just a summer concert venue, it's a community gathering space that balances local culture with touring entertainment, drawing visitors from across Colorado and beyond to enjoy music with the stunning backdrop of the Dillon Reservoir and the Rockies.
